The Bachelor of Science in Public Health and Wellness program prepares students to promote health, prevent disease, and improve the quality of life in communities through education, research, and public policy. The curriculum includes core courses in epidemiology, health promotion, environmental health, nutrition, and global health, as well as specialized topics in community health, health behavior, and wellness management. Students learn to assess health needs, design and implement health programs, analyze health data, and advocate for policies that support public well-being. The program emphasizes critical thinking, cultural competence, and communication skills, equipping students to address diverse health challenges in both urban and rural settings. Through field experiences, internships, and community projects, students gain practical experience in applying public health strategies to real-world issues, preparing them for careers in public health agencies, healthcare organizations, non-profit health programs, and wellness initiatives. Graduates can work in roles such as health educators, community health workers, wellness coordinators, or policy analysts. This degree also provides a strong foundation for graduate studies in public health, health administration, epidemiology, or allied health fields, and for certifications such as Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES). Graduates play a vital role in promoting health equity and fostering wellness on local, national, and global levels.
