The Applied Psychology degree from Robert Gordon University covers the scientific study of the brain and behaviour, and will explore how we interact with the world around us. Social science encompasses a range of fascinating disciplines. Psychology is one that is well-known and topical with a practical application.The first year of this course is an opportunity to explore introductory social science theories and applications including elements of psychology, sociology, research methods and politics. Additionally you will develop generic academic skills such as writing reports, presenting and study skills.You will build upon the skills developed in year one, by exploring the topics in greater depth and introducing specialist modules. Academic skills will also be developed further.In year three you can specialise in psychology-based modules. Through the completion of a number of core topics, you will advance your knowledge and experience of psychology, psychology-based research and how these can be applied to contemporary, real-world issues.In your final year, you will again be able to choose modules that reflect your interest in various areas of psychology. This year also includes a core Dissertation module, which will allow you to study, in-depth, an area of relevant interest.
