This London Metropolitan University degree will prepare students to meet the growing demand for analytical expertise as they learn to tackle the problems encountered in forensic science. They’ll gain a solid foundation in general subjects that underpin forensic science including chemistry, molecular and cell biology, and genetics. Students will carry out a range of biological, chemical and criminalistic procedures in a safe, competent and reliable way, and get the chance to put their skills to the test with hands-on laboratory sessions taught in London Met's £30 million Science Centre. They’ll find themselves interpreting blood patterns, processing crime scenes, identifying firearms and tracing evidence. Graduates from this Forensic Science BSc are equipped to take up employment in a variety of scientific industries. Our graduates have gone onto roles within the police service, forensic science laboratories, analytical laboratories in the health sector, pharmaceutical and food industries. Their analytical, numerical and communication skills are also in demand in a wide range of careers such as the financial sector, scientific journalism and teaching.
