Our graduates have worked on: 1917, The Crown, The Witcher, Vigil, The Devil’s Hour, Shetland, The Athena, The Art of Love, Cats, One of Us and Later with Jools Holland – in roles including, director, VFX producer, journalist, media controller, cinematographer, acquisitions and development, brand consultant and marketing manager. Films are made to tell a story. This course gives you an understanding of the creative processes involved in filmmaking. From day one, you’ll produce, direct, film and edit your own films – taking on industry roles, experimenting with techniques, and working with clients on live assessments. You'll learn how to adapt your skills to fit briefs and create a showreel that'll place you at the forefront of the industry – where you will be ready to launch your career. Many graduates didn't even know their job existed when they started. That's why this is such an exciting degree – it opens doors to a huge range of employment possibilities. You'll explore the full breadth of filmmaking – from idea generation to production – exploring all facets of production across drama, documentary, studio live broadcast and advertising. Examining different styles and techniques, you’ll learn to construct fresh, persuasive, compelling stories and manage the production process from start to finish. You'll investigate how ideas are developed, packaged and distributed and take into account cultural contexts and relationships between storyteller and audience. Throughout your, degree you'll work with peers to respond to a variety of briefs and produce short dramas, documentaries, live studio projects and adverts – culminating in a final year film project.
