This three‑year honours degree is based at the Streatham Campus and is designed to provide a deep understanding of life at the molecular and cellular level. From year one you study foundational subjects such as biochemistry, cell biology, genetics, microbiology and chemistry.As you progress you’ll focus increasingly on cellular biochemistry—investigating how the cell functions as the fundamental unit of life—and you’ll be able to choose specialist modules (for example metabolism, analytical techniques, molecular biology of the gene) in your second and third years.Optional four‑year variants include a year of industrial experience or a year studying abroad.
