Missouri University of Science and Technology
The Chemistry program at Missouri S&T builds upon a heritage of discovery, creativity and innovation. The program believes in quality education to prepare students to pursue and solve the world’s challenges. Students will be among the brightest minds—both inside and outside of the classroom. The Master of Science in Chemistry is an advanced program focused on the study of chemical principles, processes, and applications. This degree covers specialized topics such as organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, analytical chemistry, physical chemistry, biochemistry, and materials science. Students engage in rigorous coursework, laboratory research, and independent projects, developing advanced skills in experimental techniques, chemical analysis, problem-solving, and critical thinking. The program often includes a research component, where students conduct original research and complete a thesis. Graduates are prepared for careers in chemical research, pharmaceuticals, environmental science, materials development, or academic positions, as well as for further doctoral studies in chemistry or related fields.
